Healthy Lifestyle As A New Priority For Individuals, Businesses And States

For reference:  This series of trendletters continues the practice of publishing reviews of global technological trends since 2014 and presents a unique database of global trends and challenges in the field of human development. This research of the HSE ISSEK is based on the results of iFORA Big Data System, the Delphi survey (with the participation of more than 400 leading foreign and Russian scientists), expert sessions and interviews.

In recent years, there has been a global trend towards a more positive perception of the concept of healthy lifestyle. According to the UN experts, healthy lifestyle is one of the key factors for sustainable human and societal development in the future. That is why a lot of countries all over the world are developing and implementing national programs in order to increase physical activity, reduce unhealthy consumption and promote healthy habits.

The business world is also paying more attention to employee health, realizing that it helps to increase their productivity and to reduce healthcare costs. It is also worth mentioning that companies are launching mental health programs and creating comfortable work environments to attract and retain talented employees.

Humans also recognize the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and pay attention to both their physical and mental health in order to increase the level of well-being. A number of factors contribute to this trend at various levels, among which are increased public awareness of health issues, the proliferation of wearable devices for health and fitness tracking, the development of sports and leisure infrastructure and the expansion of food options. According to the experts, this trend has the potential to improve public health and increase life expectancy by reducing mortality and morbidity rates.
