From October 18 to December 17, 2022, a series of workshops dedicated to the research on the conceptual foundations in assessment and measurement of human potential took place. Within the framework of the seminars, both theoretical classes devoted to economic and sociological approaches to the study of human capital and practical workshops on the technique of its measurement were held under the guidance of the leading researchers from the Human Capital Multidisciplinary Research Center and young scientists, practitioners in human development.

On October 18, 2022, the recruitment company Get Experts held a workshop Job Search Strategies for Specialists in the Field of Human Development: HR Management and Social Policy. It was dedicated to job search and the modern labor market. Anna Mikheeva and Natalia Malova informed the students about the rules of making a high-quality resume, proper preparation for an interview and important skills for employers. The workshop demonstrated that students and future graduates of programs related to the problems of human development can be in great demand not only in the field of science, but also in many other areas of the labor market.

On October 25, 2022, a seminar Scientific and Technological Policy and its Impact on the Development of Human Capital in Russian Regions was held, dedicated to current trends in staffing of scientific and technological policy in its federal and regional aspects. During the event, students and young scientists identified the main trends, measures of federal scientific and technological policy that contribute to the regional science development. The seminar was held in the format of presentations and a moderated discussion.

On November 15, 2022, a workshop Interpretation of ‘Human Potential’ Beyond Economics: Systematization and Correlation of Approaches was held. Pavel Sorokin, Head of the Laboratory for Human Potential and Education Research at the HSE Institute of Education and Ekaterina Pozdnukhova, a graduate student at the HSE university, discussed the interpretation of the concept of human potential, found out how the terms ‘human potential’ and ‘human capital’ relate to each other, identified the main factors of the formation, manifestation and mechanisms of human potential in modern times.

On November 26, 2022, a workshop Human Potential Concept Evolution in Economics was held. Vasily Anikin, Senior Researcher at the Center for Stratification Studies at the HSE Institute of Social Policy, informed the participants about the history of the human potential concept, fundamental issues of economics, the theory of public choice, the difference between the concepts of ‘human capital’ and ‘human potential’.

On December 3, 2022, a workshop How to Measure Human Potential? Key Principles was held. Elena Kardanova, Director of the Center for Psychometrics and Measurements in Education, and Ekaterina Orel, Head of the Pool Modeling and Evaluation in Higher Education, discussed the basic principles of measuring complex constructs, as well as the components of human potential and the world experience of their measurement. Experts also mentioned professional skills, digital literacy, the assessment of universal competencies of students during their studies and the dynamics of human development in general.

On December 17, 2022, a workshop Components of Human Potential as Educational Results was held. Taras Pashchenko, Head of the Laboratory for Designing the Content of Education at the HSE Institute of Education, introduced students and young scientists to the results of advanced research, assessment and measurement of human potential, economic and sociological approaches to the study of human capital and practical classes on the techniques of its measurement.
