The Human Capital Multidisciplinary Research Center has published the eighth issue of the scientific digest named Kalmyks. Problems of Nomadic Group Adaptation in Russia. Anthropology, Biodemography and Reproduction. The digest presents the results of the research on the adaptation of nomadic Kalmyk groups in the Russian Federation, carried out by scientists from the IEA RAS.

The eighth issue of the scientific digest of the Human Capital Multidisciplinary Research Center was published

The authors of the digest - N.H. Spizina and N.V. Balinova wrote about changes in the structure of modern rural Kalmyk populations. Scientists studied the data obtained during the research in 1925. They also collected biodemographic and anthropogenetic materials and carried out anthropometric measurements.

Researchers found that over 90 years, Kalmyk men's height and other indicators of physical development had changed, but the body structure remained the same, indicating that harmonious development had occurred. In rural Kalmyk populations, there was a demographic transition from natural reproduction to a regulated type, which is more characteristic for the urban population.
